Yes, a bit grim was it the impact shock or a specific trauma. Was in a crash a while ago, took myself to hosp. later the casualty docs heard about it over the radio earlier and all assumed I would be brown bread when brought in from the impact. When I went to get my bits from the car the mechanics did not believe I was the driver. Side impact at 70 mph I appreciate your efforts.
I was wondering if one of you could help me with a question I have?
I have always wanted to be come a Paramedic and just recently I have applied to become an Ambulance Care attendent which is a stepping stone to becoming a Paramedic. A few years ago I also applied to become a Fire Fighter but I did not go ahead with the application because I suffer from claustrophobia and they clearly stated that the job would not be suitable for people who suffer from this. What I wanted to know is would this phobia also affect my potential job as a paramedic? I wouldn't say that my phobia is 'severe' but I'm not sure how much of an affect, if any, it would have on my chances of becoming a Paramedic.
Hi, I'm Mac and yep this is yet another paramedic blog. I work on the south coast at a busy ambulance station. I stumbled across some other blogs and thought i might give it a go. The usual personal details are altered due to patient confidentiality. My views are my own and do not reflect that of any ambulance service that i may or may not be working for.
I'd like to write a book about my experiences but every one is doing this and I don't think I've got what it takes. This is just a bit of education for joe public and also some tales from the street, new and old. Enjoy!
